I’ll never forget how this cover story came about. I was working on a smaller version of it around the Fourth of July and had it fairly under control, enough so that I was looking forward to enjoying an extended holiday weekend. (Fourth of July fell on a Wednesday that year.)
Then, on July 3, my publisher announced that he wanted it to be a cover story and was doubling the number of pages! Well, so much for my extended weekend; suddenly I had a lot more work to do! However, it was great fun getting to interview twice as many local radio personalities as originally planned. My absolute favorite part? The stories of on-air bloopers that each person shared. |
